< --------------------------------------------------------widgets and music ----------------------------------------------------------->
IT WAS IN THE 70'S THAT HE SHOWED UP WITH STEVEIE SUITCASE AND DENISE AND JULIE AND LITTLE BOY THE DOG AS I REMEMBER . IT WAS IN THE WINTER OR MAYBE IT WAS JUST COLD IN OCTOBER .MIKE AND SALLY WERE THERE ALSO AND TOM BOM AND CATHERINE .WE WOULD GO TO CHICKEN STREET AND AZIZ SUPERMARKET IF WE HAD THE MONEY FOR A LUXURY . I STAYED AT THE MUSTAPHA HOTEL MOST OF THE TIME AND AT THE HOUSE SOME OF THE TIME IN THOSE DAYS .
and now i come back to edit all of these pages
SO AS THIS BOY WAS SELLING SOCKS HE WAS NOT WEARING THEM .

< --------------------------------------------------------so it was cold and wet with rain and then the snow came . overnight the place went white .----------------------------------------------------------->
AND WHEN WE WOKE UP the pipes froze . even though they had been wrapped in burlap . the pipes were on the outside of the house we rented in kabul and when they froze we had a guy come with a blow torch to unfreeze them . this house was on chicken street on the low end past the fruit and veggi market on the left side of the street . and nasir was the boy who took care of us and the house .
in the day time i would wander the old city by the mosque and down all the side streets and then go across the river to the nixon bazar as it was called then .
and with all of this new stuff going on with widgets i came back to work on the geo cities series .
and i learned about the way to paste in this page builder program .

so this is for Jack Micheline
artist and poet
writer and painter
horse lover and storyteller but about Jack Micheline he did like to talk about horse and poets and food . i met him long ago at dick's cafe in san francisco . on the corner of sanchez and 16th . rick london introduced me to him . rick is the author of ' the bones in the road ' and was the weekend bartender at dick's it was there that i met most of the arists that i knew from san francisco , before i found out about mail art . rick introduced me to s. clay wilson and dave geiser and many others at the bar and at other places . so jack was part of this crowd , at least when he was around . we would sit and talk about things i knew not much about and they knew a lot so i would listen or b.s. . from all of this came my interest in art . the stories and the studies and the beer and smoke . so i bought books and drawings and chap books and other things from jack over a period of years in the early 80's .
